Are Mammograms Truly Safe?

Question: Why is the upper outer quadrant of the left breast the most common area of early stages of breast cancer?

When the patient goes in for a mammogram, during the screening, there are several specifics that are not revealed or discussed by the doctor or radiologist. Most of us think of a mammogram as one X-Ray that is the same for all of us, but X-Ray’s vary with width and positioning and how wide an X-Ray should be taken is at best a guess. The wide beam captures the larger picture but it can be less finite, while the narrow beam can intensify a smaller area. X-Ray is filtered with aluminum and has three FDA approved layers.

The thicker aluminum filter will result in a reduction in the radiation dose to the patient. Conversely the thinner aluminum filter will increase the radiation dose to the patient. This poses real screening issues for Radiologists as false/positives can develop. The bottom line is that aluminum absorbs radiation.  -more-

The Herbalix Approach to the Term “Organic”

There are many levels to organics. At Herbalix, we take a very cautious approach for our natural skin care products, noting only those ingredients that are certified organic. All of our organic ingredients are marked organic with an asterisk. We do not claim to use organic beeswax, or that our water is organic as well as our shea butter or rice bran – some things are not certifiable, according to our standards. This does not mean that they are not naturally organic, just difficult to certify. -more-
